Announcement
The Office of Global Engagement of TMU have received an urgent notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On January 11, 2026, a student entering Taiwan was fined NTD 200,000 for carrying pork products in their luggage.
To prevent similar incidents, all schools are strongly advised to reinforce this message during interviews and pre-departure briefings.
Please take note of this reminder:
- Do NOT bring any pork or pork-containing products into Taiwan
- including sausages, dried meat, instant noodles with pork ingredients, or any related food items
There are very strict regulations on the import of meat products and violations result in severe fines without exception in Taiwan.
This reminder is essential to protect you from unnecessary financial penalties and legal trouble.
